“ So What; there are plenty of cafés in the Adelaide hills” I hear the nit picking ones out there saying.
When you visit Gumeracha Food Garage we want you to have an experience. If you don’t leave us thinking that you just have to tell someone you know about our place because you know they will enjoy it, then we haven’t done our job properly.
Here at Gumeracha Food Garage we aim to provide good quality food at very reasonable prices and to help us enjoy our work we have married it up to what we enjoy ourselves - Classic Cars.
One of the things that differs from a take away to a café is the atmosphere we want you to enjoy your surroundings, look outside and say “Wow, what a wonderful day”
Rainforest noises, flowers and pictures of puppy dogs are not what you will find here.
You will be surrounded by pictures of cars, models and you can watch a car DVD as you dine.
At our café you will not hear Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra crooning in the background. Around here we love our Aussie rock.
At your local Pub you can pay up to $20 for a pasta or salad meal. Hell no, we are at but a fraction of that price so you can afford to bring the whole family.
Everything on our menu is available as a take away option if you are just passing through, getting a tradies lunch, wanting to eat on a sunny day in the park across the road or if you just live locally and are not up to cooking for the family
Located within our café is our Old Wares and Spares collection.
We have collectables, old toys, mantiques and garagenalia on display and for sale.
Where are we?
We are north east of the city on the Adelaide-Mannum RD
Situated on the main street of the picturesque town of Gumeracha we are ideally located for those of you:
Bike riding through the Adelaide hills on your way to clocking up a 60km ride,
Taking the kids to feed the animals at the nearby Big Rocking Horse attraction,
Taking your classic Car or Bike for a run through the hills,
Making a pit stop on your way to the Murray,
Doing the antique and op shop rounds through the hills,
Visiting Gumeracha during one of the locally hosted events such as the annual antique fair, medieval fair, and car show,
Visiting the National Motor Museum just 7km from here,
Coming to see us with your car club as part of your run or as your destination,
Catching up with friends for a coffee, or
Wanting a good quality meal at a low price.
Car Clubs
If you are part of a car club, bring along everyone as off street parking can be arranged and we can arrange a car quiz or activities to enjoy as you dine.
We would love to take a photo of you and your classic ride or bring a photo in to put up on our photo display on our customers rides.
We are classic car lovers so we would love a yarn about your ride or your current restoration.
